*First Book Club Discussion

March 24 (Sunday) from 10:00-11:30

●We will spend some time getting to know one another and then choose the first book that we will read and discuss together in May.

●We will also choose the date for our discussion at the May meeting.

●Please come along with suggestions for the second book for us to read so that we can proceed smoothly.

Book Club Information

Name: Counterpoint Book Club

● Participants: limited to counterpoint members (with a cap of 8-10 participants for each meeting, chosen on a first-come-first serve basis)

● Facilitator: Luc Peeters (but looking for a helper).

When/How long. Meetings are flexible, proposed every six weeks on Sunday mornings at 10 or 11.

   The duration of each meeting is one hour and a half.

Where: online , zoom (Amanda’s account)

Choice of books:

    International fiction, biography, autobiography. Preferably works from the last 50 years. Books can

    be from any country, but an English translation mu st be readily available. Members are invited, but

    not obligated, to suggest a book and provide a brief explanation of why it could be of interest to

    the group. A voting process will determine the selected book. Length: Books should ideally be no

    more than 400 pages, unless the group is comfortable with a longer read.

Discussion: In preparation for each meeting, Luc will supply a set of questions to facilitate the discussion.

    Members are encouraged to contribute their own questions and discussion points.

For the first meeting Luc proposes a few books for members to choose from (additions welcome).
